well it hasn't all been easy,
but sure, that’s the way it goes,
we've been shaken, rocked and rattled,
taken jabs and body blows,
there's a strength in being together,
like a steel bar that won't bend,
nevermind the strangers,
cause i’ll always be your friend
until the end.

grr. i'm irritated with blogger. i have had three posts sitting there, waiting to be published and it wouldn't let me publish them until just now.

i didn't really have summer until the week that my parents were gone, and now i have officially had summer. i have hung out with all of my closest friends, and this weekend, i'm going to bele chere. but, even before my parents left, this has been an incredible summer.

i had a bunch of quotes that i meant to post up here, but i've forgotten what they were. i'll remember one of these days.

vivez!

well. tonight was lovely. just showing up is a fun thing to do, even if it is just a bit planned.

we went to the wingfield's house tonight for dessert. we didn't get to stay very long (just over an hour) because of my driving curfew, but we acquired an extra and he and trevor are currently watching shrek.

i intend to stay up late, but i don't know how long that intention is going to last.

i'm no good at beginnings and even worse at endings. i'm not one of those snappy writers that can grab your attention from sentence one. but middles...ah, the middle. i can do the middle of a story or article or essay or written piece of any sort.

i had a very good conversation last night.

yesterday i finished painting our room and it looks so good now. trevor decided that while i was painting, he needed to feed me pop rocks one at a time, just to keep me interested. we also listened to stick shifts and safety belts. that is a fun song.

my dear uncle says that i should give my laptop time to dry out inside and then i should try to turn it on again. there's still hope.

student leadership was great. i'm very glad that i went.

oh my gosh. i've spilled tea on my laptop and now it's gone ballistic.

I HAVE GOT EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WRITTEN ON THAT LAPTOP AND IT'S NOT BACKED UP!!!

i ran errands all silly day long today and now i'm ready to go to bed.

at the dinner table tonight, wes did an imitation of the snorting russian that went to his jobsite today and it was the funniest thing i've seen in a long time.

today was lovely. i got up early to take the hyltons to swim practice and then back home. rachel said that i should come in for a few minutes and i ended up staying for the next five hours. it was absolutely wonderful.

we went grocery shopping later and saw a lady from oliver, then came home and made dinner, played cards and had a generally good time. natalee is fun to talk to.

smack. something's wrong again and there's no explaining it.

i have got the strangest little brother. trev and i were driving home from our walk this afternoon, cruising down the parkway when we passed an overlook. there was a policeman pulled off at the overlook and for some reason trevor decided that he was "on the wrong side." so he decided to start singing about it. but not just a tuneless blabbering, it was tuned and metered. i will put it here for you to see:

(to the tune of "oops i did it again")
oops he's on the wrong side
will you wipe my tears
'cause this is so sad
oh baby baby
oh this is so saaad
he's on the wrong side
will you wipe my tears?

how he knew that tune and how he managed to get all the words to fit in the already metered song in less than five seconds is beyond me.

tonight i went out around eight pm to pick allison up from church and it was still light outside. but not your regular everyday sort of light, it was sunset sort of light. that was cool. and as i was driving, it clouded up and got rainy and as i was watching the road through the squeak-slop of the windscreen wipers, i noticed that up ahead, the clouds had broken and there were angel letters in the sky.

good night.

all right. i was just reading over my previous blog posts and they are a lot more interesting than the ones that i have lately been posting. i think it's because i actually had time to be blogging way back then. things seem to be getting back to normal (as normal as they ever are around here) and so i should be able to post more now.

my parents are going to montreal tomorrow. wes and natalee are coming over to housesit for us and allison, trevor and i are "released into [our] own good behaviour." i think it's going to be an interesting week.

trevor's best friend is over here for the first time since we moved and they are having so much fun together. i love listening to them.
